Star Fatigue : Calerion [Dev Log 07]

Hello, and thank you for checking this post out. You'll notice I haven't been very active on itch.io. Or anywhere, for that matter. I've noticed remaining consistent on outreach and output is one of the many soft-skills to focus and develop on as part of game-development. However, I much prefer to work than discuss what I want to work on.

It's kind of like discussions on dieting, as soon as you discuss that you're planning to diet, the likelyhood of actually dieting drops by a certain margin.

Regardless, here's what I've done in the long span of time since I last posted;

  • The games code has been completely re-worked from the ground up.
    • The game has gone from tank-controls and keystroke-based camera movement to WASD/Mouse movement and camera.
    • Combat has been fully fleshed out with the 'foundation' codework for the enemies you'll face.
    • Equipment, unique equipment slots, animations, weapon classes, and weapon animations have been coded in.
    • Stats have been programmed in, with movement, attack-speed, stamina, and most other gameplay mechanics factored in and integrated.
    • The inventory system has been completely re-done to focus more on the 'dungeon-crawler' vibes of the game, as well as general enjoyability.
  • The games quests are about 80% written out.
  • The games 'script' is about half-way finished.
  • I've been drawing for like two months for a new splash-screen, you should see it on the itch.io but I'll also attach it to this post.

Usually I'd put a video up, detailing the update. However, I'm still needing to do art for specific weapons (unarmed, whip, blade), and would like those to be finished, as well as a few animated portraits. It'll look like I've actually done a decent chunk of the project if I can do a video with the mentioned inclusions.
